When you think of one of the more promising artists the Pacific Northwest has to offer, you have to think of singer/songwriter, Rocky Sandoval. Hailing from his hometown, Tacoma, WA, this R&B crooner has his sights set on breaking the ‘mold’ in the music industry and finally shedding spot light on Asian-American talent. His drive and work ethic are comparable to none and his passion for creating quality music is a standard that he takes pride in. On stage, he is as comfortable as ever and it’s evident that he has the confidence and charisma needed to be a force in the music industry.

Some of his accomplishments date back to as early as 2004, starting off as a featured artist on MTV’s singer/songwriter show, ‘the SCORE’ with Ryan Cabrera; a top 15 finalist on P. Diddy’s ‘Making the Band’ season 4; and a top 50 finisher on American Idol season 1. From there, his song hit local radio and ‘Alligator Skin’ ran for nearly 6 months on the top 50 charts for I-91FM (Washington state), reaching as high as #17, as an unsigned act. The radio play opened up more doors as he was invited to perform at all the major events through the state annually which included Seattle Fashion Week at Century Link Field, KUBE 93 Summer Jam, the Puyallup Fair, the Miss Washington USA Pageant, the Bite of Seattle, and the Taste of Tacoma, just to name a few. He was the featured opening act for the Ladies Night Out Concert Series during that span, opening up for major stars Ginuwine, K-Ci and Jojo, Jon B, Jagged Edge, Dru Hill, Avant, Donell Jones, New Edition, Boyz II Men, Brian Mcknight, 112, Blackstreet and many more; in an ‘LNO” tour stop in Fresno, California, he was invited on stage by K-Ci and Jojo personally, with the rest of the tour mates, to sing classic Jodeci songs in front of a packed arena of 10K. He is also a constant regular in the Seattle/Tacoma music scene, performing for numerous shows and events throughout the year, opening for almost every major R&B/hip-hop artist that comes through town.

His music resume includes two official mixtapes, “Straight Out the Notebook” and “#mrversatility” which has been featured on numerous websites, blogs and even caught the attention of legendary R&B deejays DJ Finesse, DJ Chuck T, DJ Rondevu, and DJ Funk Daddy, all whom have featured Rocky’s music on their well-known mixtape series. He has penned songs for Pitbull, T-Pain, YMCMB and Grammy Award winning multi-platinum producers, Tha Bizness. He is currently in the process of starting his own publishing company and his music continues to get him notoriety in the press which included numerous magazines, gracing the cover of two (One-Ten and Emerald), internet coverage and a healthy relationship with prominent booking agents.

The crown jewel last year was the release of his debut album “Throwback”. After selling out his album release party in his hometown, Rocky continues to be a favorite draw in the state of Washington performing almost every weekend in both large and small venues. After announcing a 4th album, a limited edition 2015 project, Rocky’s demand and brand grew throughout the entire state. The physical copies of “Fifty Shades Of Red” sold out a week prior to it’s scheduled release on Valentine’s Day and continues to be one of the most sought-after-must-have albums of 2015. He is currently working on his first college tour and continues to sell out local headlining shows, which are scheduled only once or twice a year. His brand new EP is untitled at the moment without a set release date. He has released numerous singles as well, all which can be found on iTunes. Exclusive unreleased Rocky Sandoval songs can also be found throughout his social media outlets most notably at rockysandoval.bandcamp.com

Today, Rocky continues to win hearts with his music, performance, character and is the definition of hard work. He is the fresh face that music fans have been looking for, and his list of accolades, accomplishments, and buzz will continue to grow with his consistency and determination to leave a lasting legacy in the industry.
